HENRIETTA - sleeps 2

Henrietta has a large stern for sitting outside and also has seats in the bow to sit and enjoy those summer days.

The boat is designed to sleep two people either in two single beds or in a double, with the saloon table converting to a double bed.

To keep you cosy and warm on a winter's night there is a traditional wood/coal burning stove.

There is a comprehensive inventory including ben linen and a well equipped kitchen.

There are full instructions for operating the boat, use of fuel, coal etc.

Maps of the canal are available for purchase in the shop at the Dundas base.

Cheques should be made payable to Ms. S. Boyd.

SPLASHY FEN - sleeps 6

Splashy Fen is a luxury 4+2 berth narrowboat perfectly situated for cruising the oh-so-beautiful Kennet and Avon canal with its abundance of plant life, bird life and pub life.

The boat has a fixed double bed, 2 single bunks which can be converted into a double and the settee can be used as a single or converted into a double.

Splashy Fen is fully equipped for your comfort and the generous rear deck makes for very sociable cruising with ample space for the passengers to join the skipper, and further seating in the bow. A colour TV/VCR, DVD and CD/radio takes care of all the inboard entertainment one could wish for.

Altogether a very comfortable and popular holiday boat.

(Splashy Fen is privately owned by Sunbeam Boats and operated by Dundas Enterprises.)

Bookings: Bookings will only be accepted when made on the official booking form and accompanied by the appropriate deposit.
The balance is due six weeks before the commencement of hire.

Cancellation: Should the hirer cancel the booking we will make every endeavour to relet the boat. About your route

The choice of route for your holiday break is yours.

You can either plump for the Georgian city of Bath or take to the rural delights of Wiltshire, cruising through pretty towns like Bradford on Avon, seeing striking canal architecture like the Avoncliff aqueduct and even tackling the country's longest flight of locks at Devizes.

Whichever route you choose, it will be peppered with delightful canalside pubs, restaurants and interesting places to visit. And as one of the delights of a canal cruise holiday is choosing your own leisurely pace - that means you can stop and start whenever you want.

Bike Hire

The Kennet and Avon Canal has a towpath running the full distance between Bath and Devizes.

The surface has recently been made up for cycling and your bike hire includes the purchase of the required permit.

If you wish you can cycle on to Bristol, or take a tour around the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, away from the canal.

But you just can't beat the scenery of the K & A and the Limpley Stoke Valley.

As well as bikes we have a workshop providing spares and repairs during opening hours, and extras to hire to make the journey enjoyable for all the family - however little they may be!

About the Kennet and Avon Canal

Starting from Brass Knocker basin, you join the Kennet and Avon Canal beside the Dundas Aqueduct carrying the canal high over the River Avon.

The Kennet and Avon Canal crosses southern England from historic Bath for 85 miles right up to Reading as it gently meanders its way through some of the most stunning countryside.

As well as one of the most beautiful canals in England it is also one of exceptional interest.

There are also many unique architectural and engineering features such as the majestic aqueducts and bridges designed by John Rennie, the pumping stations and the fully restored Caen Hill flight of locks at Devizes.

This is for people who want a peaceful, relaxing, yet varied and interesting holiday.

The pace is slow - around 4 miles an hour - so there is time to really pause and notice what is around you. There is abundant plant and wildlife to be seen as the boat gently cruises along.

There is also plenty of opportunity to enjoy the many waterside pubs which offer a variety of good food as well as good beer.

Whatever you want to make your holiday, the Kennet & Avon has so much to offer a real holiday to remember!
